Power Technician

We are seeking a Test Technician to join our team.

You will work across electricity distribution systems, delivering installation, maintenance, testing and commissioning services throughout the Canterbury and Marlborough regions with the option for occasional project work in the Chatham Islands.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects while developing your technical skills alongside experienced professionals.

About You – Skills and experience required

• Proven experience working in zone substations and HV environments
\n
• Competency in HV switching and permitting activities
\n
• Experience with protection relays, SCADA systems and electrical test instruments
\n
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and complete accurate as‑built documentation
\n
• Strong problem‑solving skills, computer literacy and a collaborative, team‑focused mindset
