Positions include covering planned and acute care theatre sessions, after-hours on-call support and pre-assessment clinics. Our Anesthetists support other departments, including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, ophthalmology, dental, mental health, and the emergency department, meaning no two days are the same. Positions are available across New Zealand with immediate start dates, or you can speak with our recruitment team about your plans to relocate to New Zealand. To work as an Anesthetist (Senior Medical Officer) in New Zealand, you must become registered to practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Practitioners must meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively.
