Role Description The Senior Occupational Therapist is a part‑time, on‑site role based in Christchurch, working closely with clients, employers, and multidisciplinary team members. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include assessing functional abilities, conducting ergonomic and workplace assessments, developing individualized rehabilitation and injury prevention plans, and providing hands‑on therapy interventions. The role involves coordinating return‑to‑work programs, supporting disability management, and documenting clinical findings and progress using evidence‑based frameworks. The Senior Occupational Therapist will also mentor junior clinicians, liaise with external stakeholders, and contribute to service development initiatives to ensure high‑quality outcomes. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence‑based interventions. Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Medicine relevant to musculoskeletal, neurological, and workplace‑related conditions. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for engaging with clients, families, employers, and multidisciplinary teams. Candidates should possess experience or interest in Pediatrics where relevant to service needs and client populations. Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current professional registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate regulatory body. Demonstrated experience in workplace health, injury prevention, ergonomics, or disability management, ideally in a senior or advanced clinical capacity. Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and familiarity with outcome measures and evidence‑based practice.
