Deliver intelligence that informs regulatory decision-making Build networks across government and the intelligence community Permanent, Wellington or Auckland based position About The Role As an Analyst in our Regulatory Intelligence and Insights team, you’ll play a key role in helping the CAA better understand emerging risks, trends, and changes across New Zealand’s aviation environment. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation and external partners, you’ll turn complex information into actionable intelligence that supports informed regulatory decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a high-performing intelligence function while building expertise in a unique and evolving sector. Key Responsibilities Produce high-quality intelligence products that inform regulatory planning and decision-making Lead intelligence activities through the full intelligence cycle from collection to dissemination Identify and monitor emerging trends, risks, and indicators of change across the aviation sector Develop intelligence requirements that align with organisational priorities and regulatory needs Communicate insights through clear reports, presentations, and stakeholder briefings Build effective relationships across the organisation, government agencies, and industry partners Provide timely intelligence support in response to emerging issues and operational requirements The salary range for this role is $98,689 to $120,941. Starting salaries are based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities. What You’ll Bring You’ll be an inquisitive and adaptable intelligence professional who enjoys solving complex problems and turning information into meaningful insights. You’ll be comfortable navigating ambiguity, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, and delivering work that supports informed decision-making. Experience applying the intelligence cycle to deliver high-quality intelligence products Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex information into useful insights Experience developing intelligence requirements and supporting evidence-based decision-making Confidence applying structured analytical techniques to assess risks, issues, and trends The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and emerging intelligence requirements Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing senior stakeholders The ability to build and maintain productive relationships across teams and organisations Confidence working with information systems and data visualisation tools such as Power BI You’ll also be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
