As the Christchurch planning team continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planning Team Leader to provide technical leadership, mentor developing planners and help drive the continued success of the team. The Opportunity This role goes well beyond traditional resource consenting. You'll work across a broad range of planning projects while providing leadership, mentoring and technical guidance within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. Working alongside planners, engineers, surveyors, urban designers and landscape architects, you'll deliver practical planning solutions for a wide range of private sector clients. Your work will include: Subdivision and land development projects Resource consent applications Fast Track Approvals and evolving Resource Management legislation District and Regional Council consenting You'll also play an important role in mentoring junior planners, supporting team development and helping drive the planning team's continued growth. About You We're looking for an experienced planner with strong consultancy or development-focused planning experience who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and building lasting client relationships. You'll ideally bring: Seven or more years' New Zealand planning experience Strong land use, subdivision and development planning expertise Knowledge of Fast Track Approvals and the evolving Resource Management framework Regional Council consenting experience would be highly regarded Full NZPI membership Excellent communication and report writing skills A proactive, commercially minded and solutions-focused approach A passion for mentoring others and contributing to a positive team culture This opportunity is best suited to planners with strong development and consultancy experience.
