Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Trades Supervisor to join our team and provide hands-on leadership across maintenance operations within a major processing facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will lead a skilled team of tradespeople and contractors while coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability, operational efficiency, and strong safety performance. This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will work closely with production and operational teams to support continuous improvement initiatives, minimise downtime, and maintain critical plant and equipment performance. This role is based in Invercargill ; however, we welcome applications from across New Zealand. For the right candidate, relocation assistance may be available to support your move to Southland. Key responsibilities Leading and supervising maintenance tradespeople and contractors Coordinating preventative and breakdown maintenance activities Supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation Managing maintenance priorities and resources across the site Promoting strong health and safety leadership within a major hazard environment Supporting continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives Coaching and developing team capability and performance Building strong working relationships across operational teams About you A recognised trade qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering, Refrigeration, Fitting & Turning, or similar) Proven leadership experience within manufacturing, processing, engineering, industrial, or heavy industry environments Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving capability Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance activities within a complex operational environment A demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety Excellent communication and relationship-building skills A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate and support others The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment Hold current and unrestricted rights to work in New Zealand Be able to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol, and background screening requirements Health insurance subsidies for you and your family Ongoing support and training Multi-trade development opportunities to broaden your skillset On-site health services, including counselling, first aiders and our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) On-call allowance Long-term career progression opportunities The opportunity to lead within a significant and highly complex processing facility A strong team culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement About us At Alliance Group, we're more than a global supplier of exceptional grass-fed lamb, beef, and venison.
