We are looking for a Building Compliance Inspector to help continue to grow our business into an exciting future. We are responsible for notifying building owners of any defects and non-compliance in order to provide them with the opportunity to bring their building up to a safe and compliant standard for the building occupants.We offer a good training program and have brought many people through from entry level to IQP status. Cove Compliance is in growth mode and has recently made a significant acquisition, cementing their position as the leading independent Building Compliance provider. With a diverse team of around 50, the role will provide an opportunity to work in a growing and changing business, with a supportive team to back you on the journey. This role will be based in Auckland. The successful candidate will be provided all the tools for the job, including a vehicle. Another great benefit is that because we work 9 hours Monday through Thursday, you will also be able to take every Friday afternoon off. Tasks and responsibilities Reporting to the National Operations Manager, we we are looking for a proactive, self-motivated and relibable person with a positive attitude and strong technical ability to fill this exciting role. We are willing to consider people with IQP status, but also people who see IQP as being the next step in their career - we can help get you there! Candidates with experience conducting Monthly Owners Inspections, Trial Evacuations and Monthly SS2 alarm testing will be considered above others. This role is responsible for annual compliance for some of our most important customers and largest sites: Complete annual Passive inspections Complete monthly/quarterly inspections as needed Carry out Trial Evacuations Carry out testing/inspection of extinguishers, backflow preventers and emergency light systems. Work with the administration team to ensure that inspections are completed, reports are done, and BWOFs are issued on time. Work with key customers to explain what remedial works they may need, and ensure they are completed to a high quality The essential attributes for a successful candidate are: Previous experience as a Building Compliance Inspector will give you a clear advantage. Organised with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to build strong relationships with staff and customers, approaching problems with a pragmatic mindset.
