We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team based in New Plymouth . Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions from feasibility and conceptual studies through to FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and project completion. About the Role As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide electrical engineering expertise across a range of projects, ensuring designs are safe, compliant, fit for purpose, and delivered on time and within budget. You will work closely with clients, project teams, vendors, and stakeholders while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and mentoring junior engineers. You will be responsible for: Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through to design, delivery, and commissioning. Develop and review electrical designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Prepare technical solutions, estimates, risk assessments, and engineering input for tenders and proposals. Support equipment selection, procurement, and project implementation activities. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful project outcomes. Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting engineering best practices and continuous improvement. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders. Contribute to business growth through proposal development and identification of new opportunities. Monitor project performance, costs, and engineering quality, driving process improvements where required. Promote and uphold a strong Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) culture across all activities. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in electrical or Electronic Engineering (essential); postgraduate qualification (desirable). Minimum 10 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer within Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Dairy, Food Processing, or Heavy Industrial Manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of electrical design, engineering documentation, network design, control systems, instrumentation, P&IDs, and motor control systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and MS Project. Experience working directly with clients and key stakeholders. Instrumentation & Control (I&C) experience and multidisciplinary project delivery experience highly regarded. Key Attributes Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
