We are looking for an organised,customer-focused Ward Clerk to provide essential administrative and clericalsupport to our busy maternity service. About the Role As a Ward Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring thesmooth day-to-day operation of the unit. You will be the first point of contactfor patients, whānau, visitors and staff, providing exceptional customerservice while supporting the clinical team with a wide range of administrativeduties. Key responsibilities include: Providingcomprehensive clerical and administrative support to the ward Maintainingaccurate patient records and documentation Coordinatingappointments and managing administrative requests Processingpatient admissions, transfers and discharges Respondingto telephone and face-to-face enquiries in a professional manner Managingpatient and staffing information within electronic systems Completingdata entry and routine administrative reporting Supportingquality improvement initiatives and maintaining documentation standards Workingcollaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellentservice to patients and whānau. Previousward clerk, patient administration or healthcare administration experience Experienceworking within the health sector Knowledgeof Health New Zealand patient administration systems Experienceusing electronic patient management systems.
