Job Description
Are you an experienced Licensed Building Practitioner who takes pride in quality craftsmanship? Do you enjoy being on the tools, mentoring apprentices, and keeping jobs running smoothly? If you're ready to take the next step in your career without leaving the tools behind, we'd love to hear from you. At TJ's Kitchens & Bathrooms , we're looking for a skilled Builder/Carpenter (LBP) who's ready to grow into a foreman-style role, leading multiple renovation projects while continuing to build every day. If you are already doing this, even better! This isn't a role where you'll spend your day behind a desk. You'll be on the tools alongside an apprentice, producing high-end work while developing your leadership skills by coordinating projects, subcontractors, and site activities. ABOUT US Since 1996, TJ's has been a family-owned business specialising in high-end bathroom renovations, kitchen renovations, and full home remodels across Auckland. Our reputation has been built on quality workmanship, clear communication, and delivering renovation projects our clients are genuinely proud of. We run organised sites, have proven systems in place, and maintain a steady pipeline of quality renovation work. ABOUT THE ROLE This role is ideal for an experienced LBP who enjoys building and is looking to take the next step into site leadership. You’ll spend most of your day on the tools, working alongside an apprentice while delivering high-quality renovations. You’ll also take responsibility for coordinating multiple renovation sites across Auckland, ensuring projects stay on schedule, trades are organised, and workmanship meets our standards. You’ll work closely with our Project Manager, attend pre-construction meetings, lead weekly toolbox talks, and use Buildertrend to keep projects organised and progressing smoothly. A company vehicle and fuel card are provided for travelling between sites. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Build every day on high-end kitchen, bathroom, and home renovation projects. Work alongside and mentor an apprentice. Lead by example through quality workmanship. Coordinate subcontractors across multiple renovation sites. Work closely with the Project Manager to keep projects on track. Run weekly toolbox meetings. Attend pre-construction and monthly planning meetings. Keep Buildertrend updated with project progress. We're not looking for someone to simply supervise jobs. We're looking for a great builder who wants to keep building while leading a team. You’ll join a business with established systems, quality clients, organised projects, and a team that genuinely supports one another. You'll have the opportunity to mentor an apprentice, take ownership of projects, and develop your leadership skills without sacrificing the hands-on work you enjoy. If you're ready for the next stage of your career, this is the opportunity. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand. #J-18808-Ljbffr
