Counsellor

We have a new exciting opportunity to join our passionate and motivated Counselling team at Ōtūmoetai College, a co-educational state secondary school with over 2000 students from year 9-13. We are seeking a registered and qualified Counsellor for four days per week. Our preference is for someone with experience in a secondary school setting, or who has previously worked with adolescents. Someone who can work as part of a team and manage a complex and varied workload, working with students, staff, Whanau and the wider community. The key purpose of the role is to support students facing challenges and collaborate with whanau/families. The successful applicant will be competent in a variety of counselling approaches, have experience working with young people and their whanau, and demonstrate cultural competence in their practice. The role’s start date is immediate. Qualifications: A relevant degree and counselling and professional association certification. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Empathy and a deep understanding of the challenges students face. Experience with working with adolescents. #J-18808-Ljbffr
