Job Description
Talent International – Auckland, North Island Are you a strategic workforce planning or organisational design specialist who can turn workforce data into a clear, practical future workforce plan? We are seeking an experienced Strategic Workforce Planning Consultant to support a significant transformation programme within a complex higher education environment. This is not a traditional Workforce Analyst role. There is already workforce analytics capability in place. The focus of this contract is to take existing workforce data, current-state role information and business inputs, then translate that into a practical view of what the future workforce should look like. You will help shape workforce planning for the first phase of the programme, including future role architecture, capability requirements, workforce mapping and transition pathway options for priority groups. 6-month contract | Auckland Central Complex transformation programme Workforce planning | Organisational design | Future role architecture About the role Working closely with HR Shared Services, HR/OD stakeholders, project teams and business analysis capability, you will help develop workforce planning outputs that support decision-making across a broader transformation programme. This role will suit someone who is comfortable working with ambiguity, can make sense of partial or imperfect data, and is confident turning complex workforce information into clear recommendations. Key focus areas Identify current roles that may be impacted by the future-state model Map current roles against future workforce requirements Define future role architecture, including roles that may remain, evolve, emerge or phase out Develop capability and competency frameworks for future roles Build workforce transition pathways and initial options for priority groups Provide input into position description reviews and role mapping Develop a high-level strategic workforce plan and workforce map Support recruitment checkpoint processes and transition decision-making Engage with senior leaders, HR/OD teams and project stakeholders Key deliverables Strategic workforce plan Workforce map Future role architecture Initial transition options and pathwaysInput into recruitment checkpoints and transition decision frameworks Experience with workforce data, TechnologyOne HR/P, Power BI or Excel would be useful, but this is not a reporting-focused role.
