About the role This is a 12 month fixed-term fulltime role which exists to test, measure and validate the inputs and practices that drive orchard performance, using high-tech sensor equipment and rigorous data capture. The Technician will be the field and data engine room of Prospa's precision horticulture project, turning hypotheses set by the project leadership team into tested, evidenced conclusions that shape how we grow kiwifruit going forward. Key Responsibilities Attend regular sessions with the Project Leadership Team to review and refine hypothesis statements for the precision horticulture project Design and run experiments across multiple orchards and regions to test orchard inputs against outputs Track and record all orchard inputs, tasks and management events accurately and in a timely manner Operate and maintain high-tech orchard equipment and sensors to ensure accurate, continuous data capture Validate captured data for accuracy and completeness before it is used to draw conclusions Map outcomes through sensor and field data to build a clear picture of orchard performance Observe and interpret nutritional inputs and key orchard management tasks Prepare detailed, accurate reports for the Project Leadership Team on trial progress, findings and recommendations Maintain organised data records and documentation in the office Demonstrate and encourage employee engagement, awareness and responsibility for Health & Safety About you If you are passionate about pursuing quality and have a drive to deliver results, this role is for you.
