Veterinary Nurse - Permanent and/or Locum McMaster and Heap Veterinary Practice – Christchurch, South Island McMaster and Heap Veterinary Practice is a proudly independent, Best Practice accredited hospital supported by a dedicated team of 11 Veterinarians, 18 Veterinary Nurses, two Receptionists, and a Practice Manager. We are a busy small animal hospital providing both General Practice and Referral services, with expertise spanning Ophthalmology, Oncology, Ultrasonography, ECG, Echocardiography, Endoscopy, Radioactive Iodine treatment, and Medicine. Our large, modern practice is exceptionally well equipped and designed to support an efficient workflow. We provide separate care pathways for cats and dogs, including a dedicated cat reception area, feline-only consult rooms, treatment spaces, and separate cat wards. Our facilities include a spacious dental suite, an ultrasound room, X-ray area, and a laboratory equipped with a full IDEXX suite. We also have multiple surgical spaces, including a dedicated sterile theatre with an adjoining prep room, as well as extensive hospitalisation areas for both cats and dogs. In addition, we house radioactive iodine patients and operate an on‑site cattery. Our practice is open seven days a week, with hours from 8.00am to 7.00pm on weekdays, 9.00am to 3.00pm on Saturdays, and 9.00am to 1.00pm on Sundays. We run Ezyvet Veterinary software and Smartflow patient monitoring via iPads throughout the Clinic. We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated veterinary nurse to join our team in a permanent full‑time and/or locum capacity, delivering exceptional care to our patients.
