ICT Support Specialist and Hardware Technician Queenstown The Computer Professors & Mercury IT is an ICT services organisation located in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, Tauranga, Melbourne & Syndey.We have been providing technology solutions to businesses for over 25 years. Our services include consulting, private and public cloud solutions, support agreements via our managed services agreements and full telecommunication services (Internet and Voice) since we are also an ISP. We progress and develop career paths for our team. We are a partners with many Technology suppliers including Microsoft as a cloud solution partner. This gives us monthly training with the latest Microsoft technologies. Our mission is to deliver exceptional service and technology solutions to our clients and be their trusted partner for anything Technology related. We are currently looking for an ICT support engineer to be based in Queenstown/Frankton. The full time (40 hours Mon - Fri) role is required to help us to continue providing exceptional support and customer service to our existing corporate client base. To be the ideal candidate, you should have as pre-reqs more than 2 year's professional IT support experience, preferably within a NZ based IT managed service provider. You will already have a broad knowledge and practical experience in desktop, server and Microsoft infrastructure technology, as well as demonstrable excellence in customer service and exemplary English communication skills. An open-minded and outgoing personality would be a good fit for our organization. An open-minded and outgoing personality would be good fit for our organization. You will have ability to diagnose and repair smart phones, computers, tablets, and drones. Assess and resolve hardware and software problems. Install and download appropriate software. Respond to inquiries about software and hardware problems in person, online and via phone. Ensure efficient use of applications and equipment. Configure and maintain computer networks. Facilitate sales of new and or refurnished products for end customers. While a broad customer facing role some but not all key competencies we are looking for include: Enthusiasm, confidence, Initiative, and a passion for the IT industry Have at least two years previous experience in the IT industry Experience in supporting Apple and Microsoft operating systems. Experience of resolving hardware and software issues for Apple and Windows devices. A good working knowledge of Windows-based server operating systems A proven track record of Microsoft server administration Proven and demonstrable experience working within Microsoft RDS clustered solutions and or Citrix Citrix implementation, administration and support experience Microsoft, Apple and or other IT industry qualifications Good knowledge of Back up Systems Understanding of networking and firewalls, preference to Sonic Wall, Fortinet, Ubiquity.
