Strategic Solutions Management Ltd – Christchurch, South Island Strategic Solutions Management was established to provide expert leadership, strategic guidance, and operational support across a growing group of businesses specialising in architectural drafting, building compliance, building consent processing, inspections, and technical services. About The Role We are looking for an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Group Finance and Operations Assistant to join our Group Services team. This is a varied and rewarding role that provides critical support to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and wider Group Services team, helping keep our business running smoothly across finance, administration, operations, and customer service. As our Group Administrator, you will play an integral role in supporting the day-to‑day operations of the business by: Providing high-quality administrative and operational support to the CFO and wider Group Services team. Managing accounts administration, including accounts payable and receivable, customer invoicing, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Coordinating the upfront building consent process, ensuring applications are received, checked, entered, and allocated accurately and within required timeframes. Supporting the administration of consent processing workflows while maintaining quality standards and compliance requirements. Assisting with reporting, documentation, records management, and business processes to ensure information is accurate and deadlines are met. Delivering exceptional customer service by responding to enquiries and working with customers, councils, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently. Providing administrative support across HR, IT coordination, office administration, document management, meetings, and Group-wide projects. Supporting quality assurance, accreditation, audit requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business. Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and the way we work to enhance efficiency and service delivery. About You You are a highly organised and proactive administrator who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering exceptional support. You thrive in a fast‑paced environment, have a strong eye for detail, and enjoy working across multiple business functions to keep everything running smoothly. To be successful in this role, you'll bring: At least 3 years' experience in an administration, business support, operations, accounts, or similar role. Proven experience providing administrative and operational support to senior leaders and/or corporate or Group Services teams. Strong accounts administration experience, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, customer billing, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Strong numerical and financial aptitude, with confidence working with financial information and reports. Experience handling confidential and commercially sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, and integrity. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and business systems, with confidence using databases, spreadsheets, financial software, and document management platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business. A customer-focused approach and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional service. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement, and the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement. A flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment. It would be an advantage if you also have: A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. Previous experience within the building, construction, local government, central government, professional services, or regulatory sectors. Experience supporting or administering building consent processes or working with councils, regulatory bodies, or the wider building industry. Why Join Us?
