Job Description

Are you naturally curious, enjoy asking questions and like finding practical solutions rather than simply selling products? We're looking for a Customer Solutions Consultant to join our commercial team. This is an office-based role where you'll work with customers across New Zealand, helping them solve access, safety and infrastructure challenges. You'll recommend practical solutions using our range of fibreglass (FRP) and steel systems, always focusing on what's right for the customer and the project. From the first phone call through to a confirmed order, you'll work alongside our Sales Director, Estimating and Operations teams to understand customer requirements, develop practical solutions and deliver an outstanding customer experience. Customer Solutions Consultant Mount Maunganui | Full Time Do you enjoy helping customers solve problems? About Us We're a New Zealand-owned business specialising in access and safety solutions for industrial, infrastructure, civil and commercial projects. Rather than offering a single product, we provide both fibreglass (FRP) and steel solutions, allowing us to recommend the most appropriate option for each application. Our products are used throughout New Zealand in some of the country's most demanding environments, helping customers improve safety, reduce maintenance and build infrastructure that performs for the long term. We're proud of our reputation, but we're even more excited about where we're heading. We're continually improving the way we work, investing in our people, systems and technology, and building a business where good ideas, curiosity and continuous improvement are genuinely valued. About the Role As a Customer Solutions Consultant, you'll become a trusted advisor to our customers. You'll take the time to understand what they're trying to achieve, recommend practical solutions, prepare quotations and guide enquiries through to successful order placement. This role combines customer service, commercial awareness and technical problem solving. Every day is different, with enquiries ranging from straightforward product recommendations through to larger infrastructure and industrial projects. While this is primarily an office-based role, you'll occasionally attend customer meetings, project discussions, site visits and industry events where they add value. What You’ll Be Doing Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email. Understanding project requirements and recommending practical solutions. Preparing accurate quotations and proposals. Working alongside our Estimating team on larger or more technically complex projects. Following up quotations and managing your opportunity pipeline. Building long-term customer relationships through responsive, professional service. Working closely with our Operations team to ensure a seamless customer experience. Identifying opportunities to improve customer outcomes and contribute to the growth of our business. Who We’re Looking For You might currently work in: Internal sales. Customer service within construction, engineering or industrial supply. Estimating or quantity surveying. Engineering, fabrication or manufacturing. Building products or technical product distribution. Technical or specification-based sales. Project coordination within construction or engineering. What matters most is your ability to understand customer challenges, ask thoughtful questions, communicate confidently and work with the team to develop practical solutions. We’ll provide training on our products, systems and commercial processes. If you’re naturally curious, enjoy learning and take pride in helping customers, we’ll support you to become an expert in what we do. What You’ll Bring A genuine passion for helping customers solve problems. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Commercial awareness and sound judgement. Curiosity, initiative and a willingness to learn. Excellent organisation and attention to detail. Confidence using digital systems and CRM software. The ability to manage multiple enquiries while maintaining a high standard of customer service. Experience in construction, engineering, estimating, manufacturing or technical sales is highly regarded, but not essential. Why Join Us? Join a respected New Zealand business with a strong reputation. Receive comprehensive product and systems training. Work with an experienced and supportive team. Be involved in interesting infrastructure, industrial and commercial projects. Enjoy a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement. Develop your technical and commercial skills while building a long-term career. If you’re looking for a role where you can combine customer interaction, commercial thinking and technical problem solving, we’d love to hear from you. Applicants must already hold unrestricted New Zealand work rights. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. #J-18808-Ljbffr
