We're looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanic to join our New Plymouth workshop. This is a hands-on role working across trucks, trailers and equipment - ideal for someone who takes pride in quality work and can operate both independently and as part of a team. You’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant, and on the road. What you’ll be doing Inspection, servicing, maintenance and repairs across trucks, trailers, forklifts, utes and heavy vehicles Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brake, electrical, cooling, steering and hydraulic systems Breakdown callouts as part of an on-call roster Ensuring all work meets health and safety requirements, workshop standards, and industry best practice Hours Minimum 40 hours per week guaranteed After-hours breakdown callouts (rostered) Half-day Saturdays (rostered) What we’re looking for NZQA Level 4 in Heavy Automotive Engineering (Road Transport) or equivalent Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role Full Classes 1 & 4, and an F endorsement Skills & experience Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability Experience with MAN, DAF and Isuzu trucks preferred Familiarity with ZF and Roadranger transmissions Competent with computer diagnostic tools Able to work unsupervised and manage time effectively Reliable, practical and safety-focused Positive attitude and a team player Stable, long-term opportunity Supportive team environment Varied work across a diverse fleet Opportunity to take ownership of your role and grow your skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
