About the Role Salary: As per PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific & Technical MECA – Band B We are seeking an energetic, motivated and experienced Advanced Dietitian to join the Allied Health Oncology team in this newly created position. Working as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team, you will support patients and whānau affected by haematological cancers and complex blood conditions, with a primary focus on those undergoing stem cell transplant As an Advanced Dietitian, you will bring extensive experience across a range of clinical pathways, using your advanced clinical knowledge to inform service delivery and development. You will lead the development of nutrition pathways that support high-quality, evidence-based care for patients and whānau, improving access, consistency, and outcomes across the cancer continuum. Through clinical leadership, quality improvement, and collaboration, you will help shape effective, person-directed models of care across the Central Region. About the Team/Service Location This role sits within the Allied Health Oncology team, part of the Community, Allied Health and Older Adults (CAHOA) group. Our friendly and collaborative team includes Social Workers, Psychologists, Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Therapists, who work alongside nursing and medical colleagues to support people receiving treatment for cancer and blood disorders. The team primarily delivers outpatient and community-based services, while also providing specialist support to inpatient areas when required. We work closely with Te Rerenga Ora | Wellington Blood & Cancer Centre, Community ORA, outpatient services, NASC agencies, cancer NGOs and regional providers to ensure patients, whānau and caregivers experience coordinated and seamless support across services. While this role is primarily based at Wellington Regional Hospital, the service reaches far beyond the hospital setting. As we continue to expand integrated and closer-to-home models of care, you will work flexibly across a range of environments, helping ensure patients can access specialist Allied Health support wherever it is needed most. About you To be successful in this role you will have: Registration as a Dietitian with the Dietitians Board of New Zealand A current Annual Practicing Certificate with prescribing endorsement A minimum of 5 years clinical experience as a dietitian, ideally with 2 years in Haematology or Oncology Experience in managing enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition Experience in developing and implementing clinical pathways within a complex setting If you are motivated by innovation, collaboration and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a highly specialised area of healthcare, we invite you to join us in building the future of stem cell transplant care.
