About the Role We're looking for an experienced Loader Operator to join our team and play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our yard. This hands-on role involves operating loaders, occasional excavator work, loading and unloading materials, and maintaining a safe and organised yard. We're seeking someone who can work independently, takes pride in their work, and has a strong commitment to health and safety. Key Responsibilities Safely and efficiently operate loaders in accordance with company policies, procedures, and operational requirements. Willingness to operate excavators from time to time to support yard and operational requirements. Load and unload trucks, bins, and transport vehicles accurately and efficiently. Sort, move, and stockpile materials within the yard. Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment. Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on loaders and other equipment. Monitor equipment performance and promptly report any faults or maintenance requirements. Accurately complete required documentation, including check sheets, daily logs, and operational paperwork. Follow management instructions and support efficient yard operations. Demonstrate strong time management, problem-solving skills, and a high level of safety awareness. Skills, Experience & Attributes Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating loaders/excavators or similar heavy machinery. Competent in operating both loaders and excavators, with the flexibility to switch between machines as operational requirements dictate. Proven experience loading trucks and handling bulk materials safely and efficiently. Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with heavy equipment operations. Experience working in demolition, construction, recycling, quarrying, or a similar industry preferred. A safety-first attitude and commitment to safe work practices. Ability to work independently and take initiative. WTR endorsement preferred. Site Safe certification is beneficial but not essential. Must be eligible to work in New Zealand. Available to work Monday to Saturday and flexible to meet operational requirements. Available to start immediately. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience.
