Residential Support Worker

We are seeking a Residential Support Worker to join our Te Whare Hurihuri service in Manurewa . Te Whare Hurihuri provides subacute extended care and intensive rehabilitation support for tāngata whaiora (people seeking wellness) experiencing mental health challenges. This is a 24/7 rostered service , with shifts across days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. You will: Build positive relationships with tāngata whaiora and their whānau Provide support in line with individual plans, including risk and safety plans Monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately to concerns, incidents, and risks Work alongside colleagues, clinical teams, and external providers to support positive outcomes Maintain clear and accurate documentation and client records Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment You are a compassionate and reliable team player with a genuine interest in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges. You build positive relationships, communicate effectively, and enjoy helping others achieve their goals. You will bring: An understanding of recovery-focused and person-centred support Basic computer skills and confidence using client management systems and Microsoft Office applications An understanding of working with Māori (Māori people), Pasifika, and diverse communities NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 4 (or equivalent), or a commitment towards obtaining the relevant minimum qualification within the required timeframe Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this).
