About the Role We are seeking an experiencedMarketing Managerto lead all marketing activities across our online retail and wholesale operations. You will identify market opportunities, develop and execute integrated marketing strategies to drive revenue growth, and advise senior management on pricing, promotion, and channel strategies. Working closely with sales, procurement, digital, and customer service teams, you will enhance brand awareness, optimise customer acquisition and retention, and align marketing initiatives with the company’s growth objectives in New Zealand’s competitive alcohol e-commerce market. Key Responsibilities 1. Marketing Strategy, Campaign Management & Team Leadership 1.1 Plan, develop, and execute comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns to support revenue and growth objectives for retail and wholesale alcohol sales, leading and mentoring the marketing team to ensure alignment with strategic goals. 1.2 Direct multi-channel marketing initiatives across digital (SEO/SEM, social media, email, display), traditional media, and trade channels to maximise brand visibility and market penetration nationwide. 2. Market Analysis, Budget Management & ROI Optimisation 2.1 Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity to advise senior management on pricing strategies, product positioning, and promotional approaches. 2.2 Manage the annual marketing budget, monitor campaign performance against KPIs (customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend, conversion rates), and optimise resource allocation for maximum ROI. 3.1 Oversee optimisation of the e-commerce platform (www.whiskeyonline.co.nz), including traffic generation, conversion rate optimisation, and customer journey enhancements. 3.2 Manage digital channels: Google Ads, Meta advertising, email automation, affiliate programmes, SEO/SEM, and web analytics to improve search rankings and customer acquisition. 4. Brand Management & Customer Engagement 4.1 Direct branding initiatives to enhance brand awareness, customer loyalty, and market positioning across New Zealand. 4.2 Develop customer retention strategies, including loyalty programmes, personalised email campaigns, and targeted promotions based on purchase behaviour. 5. Wholesale & Trade Marketing 5.1 Develop and execute B2B marketing strategies targeting wholesale buyers (retail liquor outlets, hospitality businesses) to drive wholesale order volume. 5.2 Coordinate with sales to create trade marketing materials, promotional packages, and wholesale-specific campaigns to expand market share. 6. Compliance & Regulatory Awareness 6.1 Ensure all marketing activities comply with New Zealand alcohol advertising regulations, the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, and other legal requirements. 6.2 Stay informed of industry-specific advertising restrictions and self-regulatory codes to mitigate compliance risks and protect the company's reputation. Qualifications & Experience 1. A Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, Communications, or a related field. 2. If the above qualification is not met, a minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in senior marketing management, brand management, or digital marketing leadership roles is required. 3. Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful multi-channel marketing campaigns that deliver measurable business outcomes, preferably within e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or alcoholic beverage industries. 4. Strong understanding of digital marketing platforms and tools, including Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, email marketing software, SEO/SEM, web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), and CRM systems. 5. Experience in e-commerce marketing, including conversion rate optimisation, online customer acquisition, and retention strategies for transactional websites. 6. Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate market data and consumer insights into actionable marketing plans. 7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong copywriting and content strategy capabilities are highly desirable. 8. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and align diverse internal teams. 9. Experience in B2B or wholesale marketing within the food, beverage, or alcohol sector is a significant advantage. 10. Familiarity with New Zealand alcohol advertising regulations and compliance requirements is highly regarded. What We Offer 1.
