Senior Project Manager - Civil Construction

Our client is a highly regarded Tier 2 civil construction company with a solid reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across New Zealand. With a significant long-term Three Waters project secured in the Waikato and a strong pipeline of future work, they are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their leadership team. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering essential infrastructure while leading high-performing teams within a business that values its people, invests in quality, and promotes long-term career development. As the Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of major civil infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Key responsibilities include: Leading the coordination and delivery of complex civil construction projects. Providing technical oversight and engineering administration. Managing project programmes, budgets, procurement and commercial performance. Identifying project risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders. Leading, mentoring and developing Project Engineers and Site Teams. Promoting a collaborative, high-performance culture that delivers exceptional outcomes. About You: To succeed in this role, you will bring: A minimum of 8 years' experience managing large-scale civil construction projects. Extensive experience delivering Three Waters and land development projects . A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline. Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, forecasting and cost control. Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, health & safety legislation and environmental compliance. Proficiency with project management software, including scheduling and cost control systems. Outstanding leadership, organisational and communication skills. The ability to build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, site teams and internal stakeholders. The ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple priorities and delivering to tight deadlines. What's on Offer? Salary package of $180,000-$220,000 , depending on experience.
