Job Description
Wellington | Full-Time | Vehicle, Phone and Tools Provided Lite Energy is looking for an experienced HVAC technician or electrician with strong HVAC experience to join our growing Wellington team. This is a senior field-based role for someone who can confidently run installations, servicing and fault-finding work while maintaining a high standard of workmanship, organisation and client communication. You will work across residential and light-commercial HVAC projects, including high-wall, multi-split, ducted and ventilation systems. You will also help guide apprentices and technicians on site and work closely with our Operations Manager to keep jobs running efficiently. The Role You will be responsible for: Installing, servicing, maintaining and fault-finding HVAC systems. Running jobs from preparation through to commissioning and client handover. Reviewing quotes, plans, heat-load information and duct designs before starting work. Organising labour, materials, equipment and job sequencing. Directing technicians and apprentices on site. Identifying variations, design conflicts and potential delays early. Communicating clearly with clients and management about progress and site issues. Completing testing, commissioning sheets, service reports, photographs and job notes. Completing HVAC electrical work where appropriately licensed. Supporting electrical and renewable-energy projects when required. About You We are looking for someone who: Has strong practical experience installing and servicing HVAC systems. Can independently run residential and light-commercial projects. Is confident fault-finding electrical, refrigeration, airflow, drainage and control issues. Takes pride in tidy, professional and serviceable installations. Can read plans, technical information and job scopes. Communicates clearly with clients, managers and other technicians. Understands the importance of accurate paperwork, material records and site updates. Can train and support less-experienced team members. Uses initiative but knows when to ask for support or approval. Is reliable, organised and commercially aware. Required Significant HVAC installation and servicing experience. Appropriate refrigerant-handling or approved-filler qualifications. Full New Zealand driver licence. Strong understanding of safe working practices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. A current New Zealand electrician practising licence would be highly regarded, particularly where combined with strong HVAC experience.
