Queen Margaret College is looking for a proactive and organised People & Capability Coordinator to join our small, supportive team. This generalist role supports the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to payroll and offboarding, ensuring our HR processes run smoothly and professionally. You'll work closely with staff across all areas of the school, building trusted relationships and responding to a wide range of queries and needs. No two days are the same, and your ability to manage competing priorities, stay organised, and communicate clearly will be key to your success. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is confident working both independently and as part of a small, collaborative team. You'll also contribute to HR reporting, process improvement, and support the Director, People & Capability with projects and data that inform decision making across the College. Ngā haepapa | The responsibilities Coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes, including advertising, interview scheduling, employment agreements, Police Vetting, and liaising with IT, Property, and Health & Safety ensuring successful onboarding. Managing employee records, and contract variations. Supporting payroll processing, maintaining payroll data, and responding to staff queries Managing the People inbox, categorising and responding to queries. Tracking key HR metrics and preparing reports. Supporting process improvement initiatives and contributing to HR projects. You will bring to the role: Experience in HR coordination or a recent HR graduate qualification Strong organisational and communication skills Intermediate/advanced Microsoft suite skills Initiative and a commitment to continuous personal and professional development Experience with payroll systems (iPayroll preferred) Knowledge of NZ employment legislation Experience in a school environment (preferred but not essential) Ngā whakareinga | What we offer Our staff have access to a wide range of professional development opportunities as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous learning and development.
