Blind Low Vision NZ – Manurewa, North Island Weekend work only - primarily on Saturdays, if and when required. This casual position will be responsible for performing various tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the Recreation Centre, ensuring best practice is followed and ensuring Health and Safety regulations and terms of the hire agreement are adhered to.It will oversee and coordinate primarily weekend events, ensuring the property is maintained at a high standard, all while providing exceptional customer service to clients, staff members and members of the public using the Recreation Centre. We are looking for someone who has the ability to: Provide support and assistance to our clients and guests in the Recreation Centre Communicate effectively as to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all Manage and maintain key relationships with the responsible hirer/user at the time of the event Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the recreation hall, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are in good working order and properly maintained Expanded Job Description Provide day-to-day operational support regarding the Recreation Centre Manage and maintain key relationships with the responsible hirer/user at the time of the event. Communicate effectively with event organisers, attendees to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all. Responsible for ensuring resources are readily available for hirers/users of the Recreation Centre. Support of day-to-day operations ensuring the property is fit for purpose. Responsible for opening and closing the Recreation Centre for the event. Record names of attendees for Health and Safety purposes. Clear understanding of Health and Safety protocol in the event of an emergency for all attendees. Respond to any emergencies or incidents that occur during events and contact emergency services if necessary. Support in managing Recreation Centre Health and Safety risks as and when they arise to ensure they are dealt with according to established process and in a timely manner. Reporting Provide a report of the event including any incidences or complaints to the Complex Manager. Report any damages to property or malfunction of property such as 86” tv, tables or chairs to the Complex Manager. Identifying opportunities for process improvements. Ensuring reporting processes comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and internal policies. Health and Safety All accidents, hazards, near misses, incidents are reported and recorded appropriately. All practicable steps are taken to minimise or eliminate hazards in the Recreation Centre.
