Job Description
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to manufacture and repair a diverse range of components. Our work is predominantly one-off and small-batch production, requiring a high level of skill, attention to detail and adaptability. We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist capable of independently setting, proving and operating CNC milling machines in a high-mix, low-volume precision engineering environment. You’ll be working on a range of high-quality CNC milling equipment including Kitamura, Mori Seiki, Okuma and SNK machining centres, producing components for customers across a wide range of industries. The role offers exposure to everything from precision machined components through to large-scale industrial equipment, repair and refurbishment work. Our work regularly involves larger and more complex components than typically found in production machining environments, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys technical challenges and variety. Key Responsibilities Set and operate CNC milling machines Manufacture components to drawing specifications and required tolerances Read and interpret engineering drawings Select tooling and workholding solutions Carry out in-process quality inspections Work safely and efficiently to meet production schedules Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Skills and Experience Proven CNC milling experience Strong machine setup and operation skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Sound understanding of machining practices and tolerances Strong problem-solving ability High attention to detail and commitment to quality A positive attitude and team-focused approach Demonstrated experience setting up, proving and operating multi-axis CNC machining centres in a precision engineering environment.
