Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Site Manager to join a well-established residential construction business delivering insurance reinstatement, renovation, repair and residential building projects across the Wellington region. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader who can confidently manage multiple trades, coordinate subcontractors, and drive projects through to successful completion while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and customer service. The role will initially commence on a temporary or fixed-term basis, with a clear pathway to permanent employment for the right person. About the Role As Site Manager, you will take ownership of projects from commencement through to completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Key responsibilities include: Leading and coordinating in-house trade teams and subcontractors on site Managing daily site activities, scheduling and workflow Monitoring project progress, quality, cost and timelines Maintaining strong health and safety practices across all sites Liaising with clients, suppliers, trades and internal stakeholders Conducting site inspections and ensuring work meets building standards Identifying and resolving site issues before they impact delivery Supporting a positive, productive and professional site culture This is a role for a staunch, competent leader who can hold people accountable, make decisions confidently and keep projects moving. About You To be successful in this position, you will bring: Previous experience as a Site Manager, Foreman, Leading Hand or Residential Construction Supervisor Strong knowledge of residential building practices and construction processes Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Sound understanding of health and safety requirements Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities A practical, solutions-focused approach to site management Full New Zealand driver's licence A Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) qualification is highly desirable. Candidates with a strong residential building background who are working towards or capable of obtaining their LBP will also be considered.
