Echelon Group – Christchurch, South Island This multi‑entity organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant with strong technical capability and a passion for high‑quality reporting. This role sits within a central finance function and is ideal for someone who enjoys structured work, complex detail, and contributing to the accuracy and integrity of group financial information. The Role You’ll be part of a specialist team responsible for delivering statutory, tax and financial reporting across a broad group of entities. The work is varied, technical and hands‑on, perfect for someone who likes to get into the detail and ensure everything is correct and clearly presented. You’ll collaborate with senior finance leaders, external advisors and group stakeholders, providing trusted financial information that supports decision making and ensures the organisation meets all reporting obligations. Responsibilities Preparing statutory financial statements for multiple entities Coordinating audit requirements and ensuring accurate information is supplied Completing and reviewing indirect tax returns (GST, FBT, NRWT, RWT) Supporting year‑end tax disclosures, estimates and reconciliations Assisting with international tax considerations and cross border reporting Managing intercompany balances and reconciliations Ensuring correct treatment of capital expenditure and asset accounting Maintaining IFRS16 lease reporting About You You’re a technically strong accountant who enjoys working in a multi‑entity environment and producing high quality reporting. You’re comfortable managing deadlines, navigating complexity and communicating clearly with a wide range of stakeholders. Qualifications CA qualification (or equivalent) with several years’ post‑qualification experience Strong IFRS knowledge, particularly around leases, tax accounting and asset accounting Experience in statutory reporting, audit support and technical accounting Exposure to multi‑entity or multi‑jurisdiction environments Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships Why this Role This role will offer you the chance to work with complexity and to gain exposure to a wide range of technical accounting areas.
