Ryan Recruitment – Christchurch, South Island Enjoy Flexible Work in a Supportive Healthcare Environment Be Part of a Professional + Caring Medical Practice Varied + Busy Role About the Role We are looking for a friendly and flexible Medical Receptionist for a well-established medical centre on a casual basis, providing cover for annual leave, sick leave, and other staff absences. This role is perfect for someone looking to return to medical administration, or a semi-retired receptionist or administrator seeking flexible, casual work. If you enjoy supporting patients and being part of a welcoming team, we’d love to hear from you. Shifts are available as needed between 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, so the ability to work at short notice is essential. Key Responsibilities Coordinating patient appointments, cancellations, and waitlists Processing patient referrals and maintaining accurate records Supporting patient triage processes in collaboration with the nursing team Processing payments and handling invoicing accurately Providing reception support and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic Skills and Experience Previous experience in a medical reception or healthcare administration role Experience with Indici is essential Flexible and reliable, with the ability to cover shifts at short notice when required Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands, and work effectively in a busy environment Professional, friendly, and empathetic communication skills when interacting with patients and colleagues Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and delivering high-quality customer service Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand Competitive hourly rate Positive workplace culture that values teamwork, respect, and employee wellbeing Opportunity to work in a well-established and respected healthcare practice Meaningful role supporting patients and the local community About Us Canterbury owned, Ryan is proud to have supported candidates and clients for over 35 years.
