Machine Operator – Aluminium Extrusion | Full Training Provided 6:15am. The press is warming up and the first billet's about to go through. By 3pm you've helped extrude several tonnes of aluminium that'll end up in windows, buildings and products all over the country, and you'll go home properly tired from a day that meant something. ALEXCO is one of only six aluminium extruders in New Zealand. It's a specialist skill, and rare enough that once you've got it you're hard to replace. Where your existing experience probably comes from You don't need extrusion experience, we'll train you. What we're after is someone who's already built the right instincts somewhere else: Fabrication, welding, fitting or engineering workshops Heavy machinery operation Farm or agricultural machinery Production line or factory machine operation Defence force trades If you can read a job sheet, follow instructions without needing them repeated twice, and take pride in doing something properly rather than just getting through it, you've probably got what we need. What you'll do We'll give you full training across the press, stretcher, saw station and die prep, plenty of variety across the production process. It's fast-paced work: on your feet on the factory floor, with regular light lifting. What you'll get $28–$35 an hour depending on experience, with genuine scope to move up the band as your skills grow Profit share after 6 months, when the company does well, you do well Regular day shift, no rotating rosters, no nights. Mon–Fri, 6:15am–3:00pm. Weekends and evenings are yours Full training, no extrusion background needed We're a small, close team, so reliability matters more here than it would in a big shop.
