Big on taste because we're big on place. As a Commis Chef, your key duties will include: Ensuring produce and food items used are of high quality. Preparing, cooking & presenting an array of food - this could include Breakfast items, conference food. Appropriately plating up food and accompaniments. Meeting dietary requirements - dairy free, gluten Free. Follow correct hygiene & Health & Safety procedures & usage of cooking appliances and tools. Ensure all guests are always provided with a quality product. Assist in maintaining HACCAP procedures as required. Ensure supplies and equipment are maintained and that waste is minimised. Help with other kitchen duties and washing up as needed. What we need from you Ability to work late nights, during weekends and public holidays. Be a strong team player and fit into a tight knit team. Prior experience in a similar position. Certification in Safe food handling would be advantageous but is not a requirement. Ability to work 30 hours a week in a permanent contract. Experience with a la carte menu. NZQCF Diploma, or at least two years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification. A mix of qualifications and experience may be suitable.
