Are you a people-focused HR professional looking to step into a new role? The Y North is looking for a motivated and experienced People & Culture Advisor to join our P&C Team to provide proactive, people-centred advisory support to leaders across The Y North, enhancing the employee experience and strengthening organisational culture. Reporting to the P&C Manager, this role owns and manages all employment lifecycle documentation post the on-boarding process, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant processing while supporting a positive employee experience. It also supports the P & C Manager to deliver effective BAU People & Culture services and projects across the employee lifecycle, including employment relations, leadership coaching, workforce insights and development support. In addition, it plays a critical role in embedding early intervention strategies, driving positive culture outcomes and supporting organisational change initiatives across The Y North. What You’ll Be Doing Employee Life-Cycle Documentation – Prepare and process all employment variations and updated employment agreements in line with legislation and company policy, acting as the key point of contact for managers and employees regarding employment changes and documentation. Provide practical advice to managers on best practice and risk when making changes to terms and conditions or other requests. HR Policy and Procedure Development - Contribute to the development and management of HR policies and procedures, including providing advice and guidelines to assist managers. Coaching, People Operations & Employee Experience - Provide timely, practical, tailored and solutions-focused HR advice to managers, coaching and partnering with them to foster inclusive, high-performing and values-aligned team cultures. Support the delivery of effective P&C operations across the employee lifecycle (attraction, onboarding, development, performance and exit). Employment Relations & Compliance - Provide advice aligned with NZ employment legislation and The Y policies, and draft formal documentation (investigation letters, outcome letters, warnings, consultation packs). Organisational Change - Support leaders through organisational change initiatives and preparing consultation documentation, change timelines and communications, with the guidance of the P&C Manager. Wider People & Culture Team Support - Collaborate closely with the People and Culture team to ensure seamless service delivery, including supporting other P & C roles during busy periods. What You’ll Bring 3+ years’ experience in an HR advisory or generalist HR role. Relevant tertiary education. Strong working knowledge of NZ employment legislation. Experience supporting ER processes and organisational change. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and support development capability in a complex environment. Strong relationship-building skills, with an empathetic approach, values led and confidential approach. Experience within a multi-site operational environment (desirable). High work standards - pays attention to detail and initiates self-checking procedures, ensures consistent high quality. Has good time management and organisational skills - ability to multi-task and work to deadlines. Confident systems user with the ability to adapt quickly to new platforms.
