What You’ll Be Doing Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, as the Product Development Manager you will focus on expanding and strengthening the current product range through market insight, technical development, and stakeholder collaboration. You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end development of products, identifying, developing, and delivering new and improved products from concept through to successful market launch. You'll work with the wider business to identify market and customer needs, defining product requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, achieving target cost and price points, and managing offshore manufacturing partners to deliver high‑quality, commercially viable products. There are six main parts to this role: Offshore Manufacturing & Supplier Engagement Quality, Compliance & Risk Commercial & Market Readiness Collaborating with BDMs, Product & Vendor Management, Category Management, Quality Assurance & Supply Chain to ensure product viability and readiness Project Management. This role is based at the Hynds site in Onehunga. It’s a 40 hour week with a preferred start time between 6.30a.m. – 7.30a.m. each day (which is in line with the working hours of the team you will be joining). What You’ll Need To Win This Role Proven experience in product development or product management, preferably within water infrastructure, utilities, civil, or industrial products in New Zealand. Experienced in dealing with international suppliers, the development and successful rollout of product and marketing strategies. You’ll be curious, keen to build solid technical knowledge and expertise with the products and applications associated with the Hynds product range. Strong understanding of product compliance, standards, and certification processes. Strong project management and stakeholder management skills. Commercial acumen with experience in cost modelling and pricing considerations. A massive eye for detail and accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You don’t need to be an Engineer but you do need to be able to appreciate and understand specialised / engineered products as well as enjoy working with engineering-based people who are passionate about their industry. #J-18808-Ljbffr
