ABOUT THE ROLE: The RF Systems Engineer - Operations works independently under the guidance of the RF Manager to ensure mission operational readiness of Photon TT&C systems and associated ground stations. The RF Systems Engineer - Operations defines the mission TT&C plan and associated ICDs, communicates mission TT&C requirements to GNC and FSW teams, and verifies the operational readiness of TT&C systems via test. The RF Systems Engineer - Operations also works with 3rd party ground station operators to arrange mission ground stations and to verify their operational readiness. YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, majoring in electronics/communications/RF or related field 1+ years’ work experience in relevant industry An understanding of RF communications system fundamentals and the ability to perform basic RF analysis Experience integrating and testing RF communications system and components and operating RF test equipment including VNAs and spectrum analysers Experience applying best practice systems engineering process and developing associated documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents and/or test plans The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadline Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: Practical experience with radio communications systems A general understanding of modulation and coding techniques Familiarity with system level RF analysis applied to ground stations and satellite/spacecraft, including link budget analysis Familiarity with data analysis pipeline development in Python or MATLAB. Salary dependent upon experience: between NZD$ 75,000- NZD$ 95,000.
