Job Description
Avondale Family Health Centre is seeking a Full time Registered Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team in Avondale, Auckland. This is a full-time permanent position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care within a dynamic primary healthcare setting. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality nursing care and support to our diverse patient population, contributing directly to the health and wellbeing of our local community. What you'll be doing Providing direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions Conducting patient health assessments and taking patient histories to support clinical decision-making Administering immunisations, cervical smears, managing patient wounds, dressings and other clinical procedures in accordance with best practice guidelines Monitoring and recording vital signs and patient observations, reporting any concerning changes to the clinical team Supporting the delivery of preventative healthcare services including health screening and patient education Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential patient records in compliance with relevant regulations Collaborating with general practitioners, healthcare assistants and other team members to ensure coordinated patient care Responding to patient queries and concerns with professionalism and compassion Contributing to the maintenance of a clean, safe and organised clinical environment What we're looking for Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse A valid practicing certificate unrestricted in relation to general nursing practice Demonstrated experience in general medical within a community or primary healthcare setting with a proven work ethic Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritise patient care effectively Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage positively with patients, families and colleagues Proficiency with electronic patient management systems, preferably Medtech Evolution Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, infection control protocols and clinical best practice standards A compassionate, patient-centred approach to healthcare delivery Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining current clinical knowledge Experience in vaccination programmes or minor illness management would be advantageous About us Avondale Family Health Centre is a committed primary healthcare provider serving the Avondale community in Auckland.
