Job Description

As Branch Manager for our two Dunedin branches, you'll lead a team of 12 and drive performance across our Otago operations. We're looking for a hands‑on leader who can build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, business owners and the wider community. This is a customer-facing role, with time spent on the trade counter, particularly during busy mornings, as well as out in the market alongside the sales team visiting customers and growing business opportunities. Building strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders Hands‑on leadership role where you will learn all aspects of the branch operations Overseeing the day‑to‑day operations and financial targets Partnering with the sales team to visit customers, strengthen relationships and drive sales growth Implementing change and leading new processes Foster a positive, inclusive and customer focused culture Drive branch performance through strategic planning and operational excellence This is a permanent full‑time role. Working within the branch's operational hours. About you: Are you a strong, people‑focused leader with a passion for developing teams, delivering outstanding customer experiences and driving commercial success? Ideally, you'll bring experience from the plumbing, building or wider construction industry, along with a proven track record in people leadership. You're someone who thrives in a customer‑facing environment, is comfortable building relationships at all levels, and acts as a genuine advocate for exceptional customer service. Previous experience within the plumbing, building, construction or related trade industry preferred Proven people management experience, with a passion for coaching, developing and motivating teams A strong customer service mindset and commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience Confident building relationships with tradespeople, customers, suppliers and business owners General business acumen and sound decision‑making ability Experience managing budgets and identifying opportunities to improve performance and profitability Collaborative leadership style with a focus on team success and engagement Results‑driven with a proven track record in sales and business growth Down‑to‑earth and community‑minded, with a focus on building long‑term relationships Clean, full NZ Driver Licence Competitive base salary, tools of the trade (company vehicle) and an STI scheme.
