ASSAY LABORATORY CO-ORDINATOR

Morris and Watson – Auckland, North Island This full-time role is based at the company's Onehunga factory and reports to the Refinery Manager. Key responsibilities Perform routine fire assay testing on production feedstock and finished products Support the company's refining activities by testing process solutions using flame atomic absorption, ICPOES, titration, and other wet methods Manage sample throughput by evaluating, prioritising work, and deploying resources accordingly Manage laboratory equipment, parts, and consumables to ensure adequate supplies are available to meet operational needs Contribute to the improvement of the Laboratory Quality Management and Health, Safety, and Environment Systems, their processes, and procedures Contribute to test method development and validation About you A formal qualification in chemistry, or related field is advantageous Three or more years of experience working in a commercial laboratory, ideally with practical experience in ICP-OES and FAAS analysis Exceptional analytical skills and an attention to detail Willingness to embrace new technologies and techniques Strong verbal and written communication skills An understanding of laboratory management systems, ideally experience with ISO17025 Strong computer skills, able to use Microsoft Excel at an intermediate to advanced level Prepared to undergo a criminal history and credit check, and willing to undergo occupational health testing About us Morris & Watson Ltd is a fourth-generation family company which has been in business nearly 100 years.
