About The Opportunity Are you an experienced Survey Technician who loves the flexibility of casual contract work? Do you pride yourself on your ability to step onto a site, grab the gear, and get straight to work without needing your hand held? Our client, an established multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Manukau, is looking for a skilled and autonomous Survey Technician to join their team immediately. This role is a temporary cover for a team member on extended leave, offering a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise to a diverse range of land development and general surveying projects. Key Responsibilities In This Role, You Will Handle a Healthy Mix Of Field And Office-based Tasks, Ensuring Project Deadlines Continue To Be Met Seamlessly: Field Operations: Independently execute field surveys, including cadastral, construction, topographic, precise levelling, as-builts, and HIRB surveys. Data & Design: Utilize 12d and Landonline effectively for office computations and processing. Equipment Care: Confidently operate and maintain advanced survey equipment, including GPS, Total Stations, and Robotic Total Stations. Quality & Safety: Complete and accurately log Quality Assurance checks on all fieldwork while strictly adhering to on-site health and safety procedures. Project Collaboration: Work alongside project managers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality drawings, reports, and deliverables to clients. What We Are Looking For This Is Not a Training Role; You Must Be Ready To Hit The Ground Running From Day One. To Be Successful, You Will Need: Proven Autonomy: Strong experience working solo in the field and the confidence to manage surveying tasks independently. Software Proficiency: Practical, hands-on experience using 12d software and Landonline. Technical Expertise: A solid background in land development surveying, with a strong handle on mathematics and computer technology used in modern survey practices. Great Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with internal engineering and planning teams, as well as external stakeholders.
