Canstaff – Queenstown-Lakes District, South Island Our client, a respected small owner-operated company based in Queenstown, is known for delivering premium commercial and high-end residential projects across the Southern Lakes. With demand growing, they are now seeking an experienced Heating Engineer (Senior HVAC Technician) to join their team. This is a senior-level role suited to someone who can not only install systems but also design, diagnose, lead, and ensure absolute compliance and performance. The Role: You’ll be responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding of heating and ventilation systems across a variety of residential and commercial sites including architecturally designed homes and complex commercial builds. Key responsibilities include: Designing and specifying heating systems to suit building requirements Installing, servicing, and repairing heat pumps, boilers, radiators, and ventilation systems Advanced fault diagnostics and system troubleshooting Ensuring compliance with NZ building codes, safety, and energy efficiency standards Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans Advising clients on energy-efficient and cost-effective system solutions Maintaining high documentation and reporting standards What We’re Looking For: Minimum 3+ years NZ experience in heating/HVAC Electrical Service Technician (EST) Licence (EWRB) - preferred/required Strong background in both commercial and high-end residential projects High-level diagnostic and problem-solving skills Sound knowledge of NZ compliance and safety standards Full, clean NZ driver’s licence Ability to work independently and provide leadership on-site Professional communication skills and pride in workmanship What’s On Offer: Premium pay rates reflecting senior-level skill and current industry demand High-quality, technically interesting projects A company with genuinely high standards and the pay to match Small team environment where your expertise is valued The lifestyle opportunity of living and working in Queenstown one of New Zealand’s most spectacular regions If you’re ready to step into a more senior role where your technical expertise, leadership, and design capability are recognised and rewarded, we’d like to hear from you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
