As Product Owner - Forge, you’ll help create the platform capabilities that support ASB’s future lending products and services. This is a role for someone who enjoys complexity, systems thinking and working closely with engineering teams to solve meaningful problems. About NextLend NextLend is ASB’s next-generation lending platform, supporting home lending, broker lending and a growing range of short-term borrowing products. We’re modernising how lending is delivered, creating simpler, safer and more intuitive experiences for both customers and our frontline teams. As NextLend continues to grow, it is becoming the single lending platform supporting personal banking customers across ASB. It’s an exciting time to join, with the team expanding and the platform playing an increasingly important role in how we deliver great lending experiences. About the Squad Forge is responsible for building the underlying platform (Pega) capabilities that enable lending products across NextLend. From integrations and decisioning services to rules management, affordability capability and lending workflows, the squad’s work enables the customer and frontline experiences that sit above it. This is a platform-focused role, working closely with engineering and architecture to build scalable foundations for future growth. About the Role As Product Owner, you’ll take ownership of platform priorities and work closely with engineering teams to ensure the right foundations are in place to support future delivery. Key responsibilities include: Define platform priorities and roadmap outcomes Lead discovery and solution discussions with engineering and business teams Manage product backlogs and delivery priorities Balance technical, customer and business requirements Work closely with engineers, architects, delivery leads and stakeholders Manage risks, dependencies and governance requirements Drive platform outcomes that enable future product delivery Ensure operational, risk and compliance considerations are built into delivery About You You’re an experienced Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Delivery Lead or technology professional who enjoys working with platform complexity. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you do need to be comfortable working closely with engineering teams, architects and technical stakeholders. You can take complex technical information, understand the customer and business need behind it, and turn it into clear priorities for delivery. Key skills and experience: Experience owning platform, integration or enterprise technology products Strong understanding of software delivery practices Experience partnering with engineers, architects and delivery teams Ability to translate technical complexity into clear priorities Experience managing large or complex backlogs Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills Proven delivery experience in agile technology environments Confidence balancing technical foundations with business outcomes Enterprise technology or financial services experience would be advantageous Why This Role Is Exciting You’ll help create the foundations that enable future lending innovation across ASB.
