About the Role Off the Chain Cycles is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bicycle Service Technician to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing and repairing bicycles, building new bikes, diagnosing mechanical issues, and ensuring every bike leaves the workshop in excellent condition. Key Responsibilities Workshop Duties Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on mountain bikes and other bicycles. Complete scheduled servicing to a high standard. Build and prepare new bicycles for sale. Install and upgrade components and accessories. Bleed hydraulic brakes and service drivetrains. True wheels and replace spokes where required. Carry out suspension servicing (experience preferred but not essential). Perform final safety and quality inspections on all completed work. Maintain accurate workshop records and job notes. Keep the workshop clean, organised and well presented. Customer Service Communicate repair requirements and costs with customers. Provide honest advice and recommend appropriate servicing and upgrades. Deliver friendly, professional customer service. Ensure customers have an excellent experience from booking through to collection. General Store Support Assist with receiving and checking workshop stock. Help maintain workshop tools and equipment. Support retail staff during busy periods. Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience as a Bicycle Mechanic or Bicycle Service Technician. Strong knowledge of modern mountain bikes and bicycle components. Experience servicing hydraulic brakes, drivetrains, suspension forks and dropper posts. Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills. High attention to detail. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
