If you love plants, enjoy working outdoors, and take pride in a good day's work, this could be the role for you. We're looking for someone reliable, hands-on, and happy to pitch in wherever needed. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and care for doing things well are what matter most. Join our friendly team at Growing Spectrum's Palmerston North Nursery - a place where you can put down roots and watch your skills grow. As a Nursery Worker, you'll be involved in all aspects of plant care, from propagation through to dispatch. You'll work across different teams, helping to ensure plants are nurtured to a high standard while keeping the nursery running smoothly and looking its best. A keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn are just as important as experience - full training will be provided for the right person. What You’ll Be Doing: Assist with propagation, potting, pruning, and maintaining plant hygiene. Monitor plant health, apply fertilisers, weed suppressors, and ensure proper hydration through irrigation and hand watering. Relocate, organise, and count plants as needed, and help prepare plants for dispatch to ensure timely deliveries. Help maintain nursery equipment, keep workspaces clean and tidy, and assist with simple repairs and general upkeep. Follow all health and safety protocols, proactively report hazards, and contribute to a safe and positive work culture. Participate in daily team briefings, support different nursery areas as required, and share ideas to help improve processes and outcomes. What We're Looking For: A great attitude and willingness to learn. Strong work ethic and reliability. Physically fit and able to comfortably carry out regular lifting, bending, standing and other manual tasks throughout the day. Happy working outdoors in all weather conditions. Attention to detail and pride in doing a quality job. Previous nursery or horticultural experience is an advantage but not essential. Forklift or tractor experience is a bonus (training can be provided). Spray experience or a Growsafe certificate is helpful but not required. A current NZ driver's licence is an advantage. Why Join Us: Be part of a friendly, down-to-earth team. Enjoy a hands-on, varied role in a leading New Zealand nursery. Opportunities to learn new skills and grow your career. Supportive workplace culture and a competitive wage. #J-18808-Ljbffr
