Job Description

Fairview Motors Limited – Matamata, North Island The Workshop Foreman is responsible for leading the workshop team to ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. You will support technicians to maximise productivity, improve quality, meet Standard Repair Times (SRTs), and maintain a positive, high-performing workshop culture. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure all servicing, repairs and diagnostic work are completed to manufacturer standards and within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). Coach and mentor technicians to improve efficiency, workmanship and diagnostic capability. Monitor workflow and workshop productivity, ensuring downtime is used productively. Support the Service Manager in achieving workshop efficiency, quality and profitability targets. Promote strong teamwork and collaboration across all Fairview departments. Provide technical guidance and support to technicians on Ford and/or Mazda vehicles. Complete all required Ford and Mazda training and encourage continuous learning within the workshop. Foster a positive, respectful and inclusive workplace culture built on accountability and teamwork. Lead by example in delivering excellent customer service during all customer interactions. Ensure all Health & Safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements are followed. Maintain a clean, organised and professional workshop environment. Carry out quality control checks before vehicle delivery where required. Support and develop apprentices and less experienced technicians. Escalate technical concerns to Ford and/or Mazda Technical Support where appropriate. Drive continuous improvement in workshop processes, productivity and customer satisfaction. ABOUT YOU Strong mechanical knowledge, ideally with Ford and/or Mazda products. Previous experience leading, mentoring or supervising technicians. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Intermediate computer skills and confidence using workshop management systems. Current Full New Zealand Driver Licence. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work effectively. A positive attitude with the ability to motivate, coach and develop others. Calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions.
