ROOFER

Full time permanent ROOFER required for our busy and growing company. The minimum work hour will be 30 hours per week and maximum will be 50 hours per week. The minimum wage is $28.00 ph and maximum wages will be $35.00 ph. Candidate should pass a background check . New Zealand citizen or resident will be preferable. Please mention if you are a NZ resident or citizen.

Tasks Include:

Build roofs using various materials and tools.

Studying drawings, specifications and work sites to determine materials required.

Measuring and cutting materials to ensure that they fit securely around vents, gutters, chimneys and walls.

Erecting ladders and scaffolds.

Smoothing out rough spots on roofs to prepare the surface for new shingles or waterproofing.

Replacing areas of clients' roofs that are damaged or rotting.

Placing and securing waterproof sheets over eaves.

Safely transporting all required equipment and materials to job sites.

Nailing and stapling roofing underlay to roofs.

Repair or replace broken materials.

Aligning starter rows of roofing material with edges of roofs, securing with wire, staples and nails, and overlapping successive layers of tiles.

Sizing and cutting roofing material to fit around vents, chimney edges, corners and ridges.

Ensure roofs protect buildings from weather conditions, such as rain or snow.

Slipping roofing material under prefabricated flashing and nailing it down.

Inspecting the structure of roofs in order to determine the best course of action.

Caulking and flashing exposed nail heads to prevent leaks.

Skills Required:

Two years relevant experience.

The applicant may be required to work all around Wellington.

Candidates MUST mention whether he/she is a New Zealand resident or citizen.
