Community Mental Health Nurse For Kapiti District

Location Kapiti Health Centre Contract and Working Hours Permanent Full Time (1.0 FTE) Mon-Fri 0830-1700hrs About the Role Working with the MDT consisting of Psychiatrists, Psychologist, Registered Nurses, Social worker and Admin staff. Allocated a caseload of clients to manage autonomously with support of the MDT. Days varied, need to be flexible and able to prioritise caseload. Respond to acute situations and manage these with team support. Ensure management of KPIs of the service. Develop interface with other services and local NGOs. Maintain up-to-date clinical practice and continue education. Team / Service Description We are an adult community mental health team covering the Kapiti district, from Paekakariki to Peka Peka. We are an experienced team and made up of Psychiatrists, Psychologist, Mental health nurses, Social Worker and an Admin team. We welcome students and NESPs to our team. We see the population with moderate - severe mental illness and work closely with many different services. Our psychologist and other clinicians run Psychology workshops on base for our service users who would benefit from this. We work closely with NGO's in the area and have a Respite house close by for our clients to use when appropriate. We are based alongside the Kapiti Health Centre, close to public transport and have free parking. With Transmission Gully close by, we are only a short drive from Porirua and Wellington. About you Registered mental health nurse with appropriate training in mental health (ie NESP programme). Some post registration experience. Ability to role model excellent care and practice. Team player with a good sense of humour and ability to work alongside all disciplines.
