We’re looking for two full-time permanent, and one part-time permanent (24 hours) custodians to join our Parks Field Team based in Wanaka. Our full-time roles work across either Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday rosters, part-time permanent is x3 days per week including weekend work. What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi A crucial role in keeping our communities safe and looking their best, this is an exciting opportunity to play your part. You will be required to determine the different duties and responsibilities depending on work environment and specialisation on the day in the CBD assets in Wanaka. The role will involve: Ensuring CBD areas are presented and maintained to a high standard using industry best practice. Undertaking cleaning, street sweeping, litter removal, sticker removal and can include a variety of tasks day to day. Operating high value specialist street sweeping machinery. Building and maintaining good relationships with retailers and property managers, ensuring Wanakas best image is always presented Complying with and supporting QLDC health and safety policies and procedures and actively participate in health and safety activities as appropriate. What you’ll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka You will have a minimum of level 2 New Zealand Certificate in a relevant field along with 2 years hands on experience working automatously with trade related experience. To best succeed in this role, you’ll have: Class 1 NZ Drivers licence essential and Class 2 is desirable. Ability to work in all weather and climatic extremes. A good level of health and physical fitness as the role requires physical work. Able to work unsupervised and independently, using initiative and knowledge to ensure programmed work and tasks are completed to a high standard. Availability for weekend work is essential. Desirable experience, training can be provided for the right candidate: Experience operating Specialist machinery, including high value Street Sweepers, electric and specialised street sweeping equipment. Proven mechanical maintenance knowledge. A current first aid certificate. W Endorsement License and GrowSafe certification. Ability to drive a manual vehicle desirable.
