Mō te tūranga | About the role This fixed-term position supports the next phase of our mahi, contributing population health strategies, guidance and insights to key initiatives informed by the Porirua Community Leaders Forum. Working within an iwi-led environment, you’ll bring strong analytical capability, system-level thinking, and deep cultural responsiveness to guide decision-making across our programs and relationships. In this role, you will: Provide strategic leadership across population health initiatives, using evidence, insights, and a systems approach to guide impactful action. Design, analyse and present high-quality health data, insights, and evaluation findings. Ensure Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, equity, and cultural safety remain central to all workstreams. Build strong, enduring relationships that reflect Ngāti Toa values and support collective impact. Lead and contribute to key workstreams, ensuring milestones, reporting, and compliance requirements are met. Champion best practice, innovation, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for someone who brings both technical excellence and heart. You will have: A medical degree (MBChB or equivalent) and a Master’s in Public Health. Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity, and impacts of colonisation. Experience in health data analysis, interpretation, and evaluation. Proven ability to communicate complex issues clearly to diverse audiences. Skill in building collaborative relationships and working from a position of influence rather than control. Ability to work within Te Ao Māori environments with sensitivity and cultural competence.
