IT & Digital Technology Manager

Dominion Salt is New Zealand’s leading domestic salt producer, supplying essential salt products across agriculture, food, industrial, water treatment and specialist markets. We are looking for an experienced technology leader to provide governance, oversight and strategic direction across our technology environment, including IT, operational technology (OT), cyber security, enterprise systems, data, vendors and technology improvement initiatives. Reporting to the CFO, this is a key business-facing role that will work closely with senior leaders, operational teams and external technology partners to ensure our technology environment is secure, reliable, cost-effective and aligned with business needs. About the role This role is responsible for ensuring Dominion Salt’s technology systems support operational performance, business continuity, compliance and continuous improvement. You will lead the delivery of the IT/OT roadmap, manage technology-related risk, oversee service delivery, and support improvements to systems, data quality, business processes and technology capability across the organisation. Key responsibilities In this role, you will: Deliver the IT/OT roadmap in line with business priorities. Support governance of business data, reporting platforms, system integrations and critical information assets. Manage cyber security controls, technology risks, business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements. Partner with operational teams and specialist providers to ensure OT systems remain secure, supported, and aligned with operational requirements. Oversee outsourced technology services and manage relationships with external technology providers, ensuring agreed service, security and commercial outcomes are achieved. Monitor vendor performance, contracts, service levels and technology spend. Lead or support technology projects, system improvements and change initiatives. Provide trusted technology advice to senior leaders and support technology related decision making across the business. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality and business processes through technology, including practical use of digital tools and AI where appropriate. About you You will be a practical and commercially minded technology leader who can balance day-to-day reliability with longer-term technology improvement. You will bring: Experience in IT management, technology leadership, systems management or a similar role. Strong understanding of cyber security, infrastructure, enterprise systems and technology risk. Experience managing outsourced technology providers, and vendor relationships. Experience balancing technology risk, governance, and business operational requirements. The ability to translate business needs into practical technology priorities. Strong planning, communication and stakeholder management skills. Confidence reporting to senior leaders and supporting technology governance. A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with good commercial judgement. Experience working in a manufacturing, operational, industrial or multi-site environment would be advantageous.
