Asthma Educator (Independent Contractor) Contract Opportunity | 15 Hours Per Week (Term Time) | Flexible Working Our client is seeking a passionate and confident independent contractor to deliver asthma education sessions to primary school students throughout the Hawke’s Bay region. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping young people better understand asthma, recognise symptoms, and learn how to manage the condition effectively. About the Role: The independent contractor will work directly with primary schools across Napier, Hastings, and Havelock North, coordinating and delivering engaging education sessions for students. This opportunity is ideal for someone who can work independently, enjoys working with children, has strong communication skills, and is confident presenting information in an accessible and engaging way. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and schedule asthma education sessions directly with schools Attend in person and deliver engaging asthma education sessions to primary school students Adapt presentations to suit different age groups and learning environments Travel throughout the Hawke’s Bay region as required Build positive relationships with schools and community stakeholders Provide reports to our client as required About You: The successful contractor may come from a range of backgrounds, including: Teaching Nursing or healthcare Education, community services, or another relevant field You will have: The ability to communicate effectively with young people Strong presentation and interpersonal skills Confidence working independently and managing your own schedule A genuine interest in supporting children’s health and wellbeing A current driver’s licence and ability to travel throughout Hawke’s Bay Commitment to working as an independent contractor, including managing your own tax obligations, ACC, leave entitlements, and other contractor responsibilities What's on Offer Flexible contractor arrangement – 15 Hours Per Week (term times) Work remotely and at schools across Hawke’s Bay Opportunity to make a positive impact within local schools and communities Variety in your working week Support provided to help deliver an established and engaging education programme Please note that the recruitment process for the educator role will include relevant Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Education checks. #J-18808-Ljbffr
